Question with 2 notes
Anonymous asked: how do you like scu? my parents want me to go there... but i'm not sure how much i'll like it. i'm super liberal in my beliefs, and i need diversity at a school. majority of my friends have always been from different parts of the world rather than caucasian. what do you suggest? socially how has scu been for you? are you happy there?
Hi there, sorry for the super late answer! But here’s how i see it. First, if most of your friends have been from different parts of the world, wouldn’t a school with more Caucasians be a change for you? So it’d be bringing you out of your comfort zone!
Aside from that, there’s plenty of diversity at SCU. There are lots of people who study here from around the world! There are cultural clubs that you can join and different activities and events that can help you meet different types of people. In no way is SCU defined by its Caucasion majority. These people come from different backgrounds and are from all over the country so you can’t put them all in one group!
All you need to do is put in the effort and you’ll be able to find the diversity that you’re seeking. There’s tons of great groups that are available to you. Plus the study abroad program at SCU is huge! I think I read a percentage that 60/70% of juniors have studied abroad, so I’m definitely gonna try that out! I’m happy with SCU! I’m even more excited for all of the opportunities to come. Hopefully this was helpful, let me know if you have any more questions. The best way to check it out is to visit campus and get a tour!
