Valentine’s Day Reflection

Seeing all these posts complaining about being single and especially the posts hating on couples pissed me off so much. I can’t hold my tongue anymore.

Ok, so you’re lonely. So you’re tired of seeing all these happy couples. And now you think that being single entitles you to hate on those happy couples? You think that it’s been just happy feelings all around? Think for a minute. Just one fking minute. That’s all it takes to realize how much time and effort it takes to be in a long term relationship. Have some respect for the people willing to do it. Have some respect for the people willing to open themselves up emotionally, mentally, physically to another person that can do anything with them. I can say this because I know how hard it is to be in a relationship. 

I’ve seen so many people soaking in self pity.  I don’t understand how anyone can hate two people in a relationship just because their own love life isn’t working out. You aren’t the only one having problems. Don’t think that the world is all about you. It’s not fair to think that being in a relationship is so easy. You’re in no position to hate these people that are giving up so much to be in a relationship.  And you know what? Eventually you’ll be in one too. So where does that put you? Live your life and let them live theirs. Don’t be so ignorant. And if a relationship isn’t for you, then move on. Don’t let it define who you are. 

And to the people hating on Valentine’s Day.  C’mon… of course it’s been fucking commercialized.  We live in America, where the top headlines are Tim Tebow and Jeremy Lin (And in no way am I hating on America..it’s just the society that we live in. We’re lucky that we have it the way we do.). So you know what? There’s no need to hate Valentine’s Day, just accept it as another day.  If anything, hate on the society that commercialized it. Yeah, Valentine’s Day is used for profit, but so is Christmas.  Christmas is all about presents and buying gifts, so does that give you the right to hate Christmas? Not at all.
